Rules:
- All prize money is to be shared between players on the same score.
- Players can only win one prize.
- Unrated players can only win the Open prizes in the Sydney International Open, or the best unrated prize in either the Open or Challenger event.
- Trophies (and junior book prizes) will be given on tie-break. The tiebreak to be used is:
- Direct Encounter
- The greater number of wins
- The greater number of games with Black (unplayed games shall be counted as played with White)
- Buchholz Cut 1
- Buchholz
- Sonneborn-Berger
